Jamaat candidate Mohammad Nazibur Rahman bagged 129,974 votes closely followed by BNP candidate Md. Shamsur Rahman with 104,245 votes. In this constituency, Islami Andolon Bangladesh candidate Md. Abdul Gani recieved 1,114 and independent candidate secured Md. Tajul Islam 1,033 votes. This constituency saw a considerably large voter turnout at 69%.

NCP candidate Akhtar Hossain wins Rangpur-4 as the candidate nominated by the Jamaat-led 11-party alliance in the constituency. In the results obtained from 163 polling stations, Hossain received 1,47,947 votes. His nearest rival, BNP candidate Emdadul Haque Borsa received 1,39,616 votes, according to Banik Barta. Mufti Syed Muhammad Faizul Karim, the Central Naib-e-Amir of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, lost the race for the Barishal-5 (Sadr-City Corporation) constituency. According to unofficial results from the Returning Officer, the influential religious leader garnered 93,216 votes, falling short of BNP’s Majibur Rahman Sarwar, who secured the seat with 133,006 votes. The election saw a total of 257,519 votes cast, with 7,706 ballots declared invalid. Despite a vigorous campaign, the IAB chief was unable to overcome the nearly 40,000-vote deficit, marking a major setback for the party’s leadership in their home stronghold --- according to Prothom Alo.
